Welcome to Adulting and Afraid

by - 12:00 PM

For a long time, I've craved a space where I could express my fears, contribute to a community and get/give advice to girls my age.

Today I've chosen to bring this vision to fruition.

[I feel like there should be a theme song here where we call wiggle in our seats and clap our hands so here's a link to something special that you can listen to while you read this]

Welcome to Adulting & Afraid

Your community where we come together to support, cherish and love on one another.

Our central ideas focus around three areas: Nagging tasks, Self and Organization.

Nagging Tasks

Do you ever make a to-do list and notice how those simple, small things just never seem to get crossed off? You know they're good for you. You know it'll be amazing once they get done. But for some reason, you keep pushing them off -- mostly because you know they'll be a time suck or that you'll just have to do it again.

Your support and tips for maintaining these tasks fit under this category. Think money, cleaning, to-do lists, grocery shopping and more. This is the section where you'll find help for combating these tasks -- and most importantly, getting them done.

Self

Self-care, self-development, self-love -- whatever it may be, I will go all out to provide in-depth, helpful articles that provide the answers you've been looking for. This means including resources, workbooks, checklists, and even chit-chatting in the comments.

Organization

With a mix of creativity and hard work, we'll bring to life the inspired projects from our Nagging Tasks and Self categories. This includes anything from DIY to shifting your space to best fit your creative style.

Combine all these together and we'll dive into the different realms of squeezing the juices out of life.

The Tentative Posting Schedule

The three categories we just discussed will be split across the week so they each get their own Special Day. They are organized as follows:

  • Nagging Tasks - Monday
  • Self - Wednesday
  • Organize - Friday
I can't guarantee that I will post three times a week (or even two times), but I will try my best! The thing about a blog is that it's a living, forgiving thing, so if I feel the need to make changes, I can (and the world will still turn!).

About the Author

Rosie, an INFJ HSP who bakes, sings and writes YA fiction
jacked up on drama and clean/innocent romance.

My blogging adventures were born on a cool afternoon in October of 2011. They came about due to the inspiration instilled in me by the author of a site called American Girl Fan (perhaps you've heard of it?).

From then on I struggled.

I don't have an exact timeline for you, but I've tried my hand at lots of things -- web design, crafting, eBay, American Girl dolls, fashion, beauty. But I've always come back to one thing: I'm a writer. And I know I can make an impact on the world by doing what I do best.

Every day I am thankful for what I learn so that I can share it with you. Thank you for taking the time to join something I've spent a lot of hours creating, refining and tweaking. I would be nowhere if it weren't for your support.

*applause for you, my friend!*

I have another blog called Self Known that I dedicate to writing, inspirational posts, and any other forms of creative expression I feel the need to share with the world. If you check it out, include the word "adulting" in your comment to let me know where you came from! ;)

August's Theme: New Experiences

Thinking about the end of summer and the transition into whatever's next (high school, college, a full-time job, whatever it may be for you) inspired this theme. Building up this safe space will be just one of the many new experiences I will encounter this month.

It's all about stretching yourself, reaching outside your comfort zone and discovering exciting pieces of the world.

Here's to new experiences, my friend! *fist bump, explosion of wiggling fingers*

That's all for now.
